However, editing your save file with a zip editor is not a simple task. You will need some tools and knowledge to do it properly and safely. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Back up your original save file. This is very important, as editing your save file can cause errors or corruption if done incorrectly. You don't want to lose your progress or damage your game. To back up your save file, copy it from your PS3 onto a USB stick or an external hard drive.

  • Download a zip editor. There are many zip editors available online, but one of the most popular ones is WinZip. You can download it for free from their website and install it on your computer.

  • Download a save editor. A save editor is a program that can read and modify the data inside your save file. There are different save editors for different games, but one of the best ones for Final Fantasy XIII-2 is Final Fantasy XIII-2 Complete Save Editor v5.2. You can download it for free from this link[^4^]. You will also need a program called QuickBMS to decrypt and encrypt your save file.

  • Extract your save file. To open your save file with the save editor, you need to extract it from the zip file first. To do this, open WinZip and locate your save file on your USB stick or external hard drive. It should have a name like "FFXIII2_00000000" and a size of about 4 MB. Right-click on it and select "Extract to here". This will create a folder with the same name as your save file.

  • Decrypt your save file. To edit your save file with the save editor, you need to decrypt it first. To do this, open QuickBMS and select "quickbms.exe" as the script file. Then select "ff13-2.bms" as the input archive or folder. This file should be located in the same folder as the save editor. Then select the folder that contains your extracted save file as the output folder. This will create a decrypted file called "FFXIII2_00000000.decrypted".

  • Edit your save file. To edit your save file with the save editor, open Final Fantasy XIII-2 Complete Save Editor v5.2 and select "Open" from the menu bar. Then locate and select your decrypted file ("FFXIII2_00000000.decrypted"). This will load your game data into the save editor. You can now use the tabs and options to change various aspects of your game data, such as your gil, CP, items, equipment, monsters, stats, abilities, and more. Be careful not to change anything you don't understand or that might break the game logic.

  • Encrypt your save file. After you finish editing your save file with the save editor, you need to encrypt it again before putting it back into the zip file. To do this, open QuickBMS again and select "quickbms.exe" as the script file. Then select "ff13-2.bms" as the input archive or folder. Then select the folder that contains your edited decrypted file ("FFXIII2_00000000.decrypted") as the output folder. This will create an encrypted file called "FFXIII2_00000000".

Replace your save file. To replace your save file with the edited one, open WinZip again and locate your original zip file on your USB stick or external hard drive ("FFXIII2_00000000"). Right-click on it and
